The Nyquist Frequency is the highest frequency that can be represented without [aliasing] in discrete sampled audio such as that used by all computers and digital audio devices. It is defined by half the sample rate; a sample rate of 44,100 samples/second has a nyquist frequency of 22050 hertz.
